Built to Move What Matters

Our Story

First came a good idea. Then came some accomplished pros who liked the idea. Then came a blank piece of paper. And that’s when the magic happened. It started at the table—not with a product, but with a conversation. At SkyMark Companies, we didn’t just bring an idea to market—we brought it to the people who would use it. From the start, we listened first, then designed, tested, and refined side-by-side with industry leaders. Our first product wasn’t just ours—it was theirs. That’s why it worked then, and why it still works today. That same collaborative spirit continues to drive every innovation we deliver to companies building and maintaining the world’s critical infrastructure.

First came a good idea. Then came some accomplished pros who liked the idea. Then came a blank piece of paper. And that’s when the magic happened.

While a lot of business leaders think they are the experts, we agreed that while we knew quite a bit, we could also learn a lot. Before we built our first piece of equipment, we took our idea for a new generation jet refueler out to authorities in the airline industry. Then we listened. As it turned out, our plans were pretty good. But they evolved in large and small ways as a result of these industry meetings. Any issue raised became personal to us. So when we introduced the first SkyMark refueler, it quickly became the industry standard. Around the same time, we introduced the FlowMark vacuum truck, finely engineered to last longer. And shortly after that, we launched RailTrucks, which quickly became known for its best-in-class equipment. Today SkyMark Refuelers has grown into the global leader and FlowMark ranks as the national leader.

Over the past 12 years, the SkyMark Companies have grown exponentially and now serve a full range of industries including aviation, portable sanitation/industrial waste, rail, petroleum, as well as commercial and home building.

PEOPLE MATTER
We started with a handful of well-respected industry veterans. Each of us had practically grown up in the business. We had achieved success in our fields and valued each other’s experience. There’s a confidence that comes from surrounding ourselves with people we respect. So we knew there wasn’t a better team out there. Like-minded individuals seem to find a home with us, and as our business expands, we continue to draw top-tier talent.

CUSTOMERS MATTER
From day one, we had a singular focus: our customer. Typically companies start with what they envision and then they might offer customization. We went the other way. When our first truck came off the line, we weren’t selling our truck. We were selling our customers’ truck. It was exactly what they wanted because it was designed in direct partnership with them.

Some companies believe customer support is a priority. But we take it to another level. We developed systems for our customers to communicate with us. We focus on listening and resolving issues quickly. And we spare no expense when it comes to customer support.

VALUES MATTER
We began as a small business with meetings around one of our kitchen tables 13 years ago. Today we have 350+ employees across four locations in three states. With growth like that, we rely on our company values for unity. For us, that includes:

  • We are Trust Builders
Integrity means we consistently commit to being transparent and accountable. Our trucks are on call day and night, working in every possible condition anywhere in the world. Our equipment not only has to work properly, but also be safe, reliable, and trustworthy. The safety regulations in the industries we serve are critical. They aren’t just words on paper to us. We not only follow industry regulations, we are actively engaged with the boards. Sometimes it’s expensive to do things the right way. It takes more time and effort. But we believe there’s only one right way. We want everyone to sleep well, knowing we met all regulations, and painstakingly looked after the details.
  • Quality is Built on Experience
We rely on our tenured team to bring their hard-earned knowledge and skills to work every day. When you visit our facilities, you’ll see that our workforce is seasoned. We have assemblers, welders, and all kinds of specialists that have been doing this work for 20+ years. All of our operations managers and crew leaders have built thousands of trucks over the years. These folks have seen everything. They simply don’t believe in shortcuts.
  • Innovation Fuels Our Next Step
Our customers are more data driven these days, so we use technology to give our equipment a voice. Fleet managers now enjoy real-time access to vital information from assembly through a vehicle’s service life. We’re integrating advanced sensors, across all our product lines, that provide customers with important feedback on maintenance needs, fuel usage, location, and performance.

We are the first to offer a system that invites customers to track their equipment on the assembly line and on the road. This robust operating system, like two-way glass, invites our customers to view key details. And we don’t just sell our equipment, we’re here to provide tech support as well. We developed a system that shares every service call, email, and checkup. It’s completely transparent, which guarantees that we’re on the same team.

Challenges excite us because we know we have the team and the tools to step into what’s ahead of us.
